The Building Department, located in Village Hall, handles a variety of responsibilities. It issues building and other types of permits. It is responsible for determining whether construction or special uses require approvals from the Board of Architectural Review, Coastal Zone Management Commission, Planning Commission and/or Zoning Board of Appeals. It also handles Fire Inspections and Code Enforcement matters.

Village Clerk’s Office | get directions

The Clerk’s Office, located in Village Hall, is a source of information on many subjects and parking permits, dog licenses, and other non-building related permits. The Clerk's Office also keeps vital records of births and deaths.

Engineer’s Function

The Engineering function works closely with the Building Department, Public Works Department, and Water Department to ensure that construction projects are performed properly, and that the Village’s infrastructure such as streets, sidewalks, parks, sewers, water mains, etc. are in good working order.

Fire Department | Emergency: dial 911 | get directions

Located at Village Hall, the Village of Larchmont Fire Department is staffed by both career firefighters as well as volunteers.

The Fire Department plays an important role in our children’s lives. Many school children visit the Fire House, and each year the members of the Department participate in many community-related activities in the Village: July 4th Races, 5K Run, Tour de Larchmont, Rag-a-muffin Parade, Toy Drive, Santa’s arrival in December, Fire Safety Week and Fire Prevention Week.

Justice Court | get directions

Located in Village Hall, the Justice Court is responsible for handling all court matters, including parking violations, civil and criminal cases, and small claims. There are two Justices and court is usually held on Tuesday evenings, unless a special date is scheduled.

Public Works Department

The Public Works Yard is located at the end of Birch Lane, near Flint Park. You see the crews out and about in pick-up trucks, front end loaders, snow plows, etc., maintaining our infrastructure each and every day, from Village trees to sewers, parks, roads, lighting, etc.

Recreation Department | view recreation brochure and forms

The Recreation Director is the person to visit when you want to sign up to play tennis, obtain a permit to use the ball fields or picnic areas, or to register your children for our Flint Park Day Camp. There are a wide variety of activities throughout the spring, summer, and fall for young and old alike. The Recreation Director is found in the Village Clerk’s office. The Director works with the all-volunteer Village Recreation Committee to schedule, coordinate and conduct all events. These include the Annual 5K Run, July 4th Festivities, Pet Parade, Tour de Larchmont, Rag-a-muffin Parade and more.

Sanitation Commission | view sanitation rules and forms

The Larchmont-Mamaroneck Joint Sanitation Commission is located on Maxwell Avenue in the Town of Mamaroneck, adjacent to the entrance to I-95. The Commission is run jointly by the Town of Mamaroneck and the Village of Larchmont.

Treasurer’s Office

The Treasurer’s Office handles all of the Village’s financial matters, including water billing, taxes, and accounts payable and receivable. It also administers the Village budget.

Water bills are rendered in April and October. Village property tax payments are due by the end of June.

Water Department |

The Water Department is responsible for maintaining a sound drinking water system in the Village. It handles any complaints about drinking water such as taste or color. The Department turns your water on, turns it off, and visits to read your meter.
