Have you installed your Carbon Monoxide Detector?
As you may have read,
New York State has adopted "Amanda's Law". Amanda's Law requires you to have a carbon monoxide detector within each dwelling unit or sleeping unit where a carbon monoxide source is located.
"Dwelling unit" or "sleeping unit" is defined as either a one or two family residence, multi-family residence, or apartment building (rental, condo, co-ops). For details, visit http://www.dos.state.ny.us/code/ls-codes.html
Flint Park Day Camp
For those of you who haven't heard, the enrollment for 2010 Flint Park Day Camp will be limited to children entering grades 1-3 in the fall. Due to the renovation work that will take place at the Hommocks School this summer, and the unavailability of rainy-day space for the camp, this unfortunate decision had to be made. Registration for the Day Camp will take place on April 9 and 10 at the Flint Park Playhouse. See the Recreation brochure for details.
Parking Meters
Have you noticed the parking meters being installed in several lots around the Village? Well, if you have, don't panic! Now that the Village has installed new parking meters at the Railroad Station, several of the old meters are being placed in various lots around the Village to make it easier for people requiring a one-night parking pass to purchase it when Village Hall is not open. For details on how to obtain these permits, call the Village Clerk's Office or Police Dept.

It's Census Time
Watch your mailbox for the 2010 Census Form. It's due out this month. It is essential that all households complete this form...it will play a critical role in determining how the federal government distributes more than $400 billion each year back to the states for critical programs in education, housing and community development, health care and transportation. In a year when tax dollars are stretched, it will only take a moment of your time to complete this important form. Please participate!
Business District Street Parking
The Traffic Commission at its February 2, 2010 meeting extended the street parking time limit in the Village business district from one hour to two hours. These hours will expire on June 30, 2010.
Snow Shoveling...A Reminder
As the winter weather is here in earnest, please remember that the Village of Larchmont code requires all property owners to remove snow from their sidewalks within 24 hours of a snowstorm. Please do your part to ensure the safety of all pedestrians.
